1,001 More Weird and Wacky Adventure Ideas

It has finally arrived!  After over a month of development and editing, the next version in my series of Weird and Wacky Adventure Ideas is finally out.  Some of the improvements that you'll see in this new edition are more illustrations, new places and items, better variability in the descriptions, and the addition of guardians to protect all of those mysterious "treasures" that are hidden about.  Also, at the end of the book, I have added three new d100 tables to allow for quick generation  of Insane items, Dwellings of Doom, and places of Peril for those times when you don't need an entire adventure idea.  As a bit of time went into actually reviewing each of the adventure ideas and making edits to make them either more wacky, or more consistent, I toyed with the idea of trying to sell it for $0.50, but in the end, I decided to release it for free. (Donations of course are always accepted, but not expected).

Fittingly this week's Weird Adventure Wednesday begins on a wintry evening.  I wonder if the lagoon is frozen?

On a wintry evening you come upon a dandyish theurgist in a busy inn.  The theurgist discloses to you that 7 days walk to the northeast, in the Lagoon of the Patriarch, can be found the Devouring Monolith of the Dreaded Adjudicator.  It is thought that hidden there is the Whispering Vial of Dreams.  But beware, for the theurgist cautions you that it is rumored the Shattered Initiate of Wind slays all who dare approach!

Today's Miniatures Monday depicts a battle between a raging barbarian and a vicious Owlbear.  Savagery against savagery amidst some long forgotten ruins, no doubt the Owlbear's lair is nearby.

Iron Kingdoms Miniatures (Works In Progress)

I've been assembling and basing some Iron Kingdoms miniatures from Privateer Press recently.  They are very nice miniatures, if a bit setting specific, but they certainly do take some time to put together.  With cleaning the mold lines, j-bonding the parts together, and basing them, these are all that I've managed to build in the last four weeks.  Now I just need to wait for the weather to break so that I can prime them and begin painting them.  I've got quite a backlog of miniatures already, but I can't seem to stop adding to it. :-)

Weird Adventure Wednesday

On a drizzly morning you encounter a grim drifter in a house of ill-repute.  The drifter reveals to you that 2 weeks journey to the northwest, in the the Mischievous Grotto of Bones, can be found the Sinking Springhouse.  It is said that hidden there is the Living Bell of Putrescence.  But beware, for the drifter cautions you that it is reputed the Gruesome Seductress of Weeping guards that place!

Miniatures Monday

Today's miniatures Monday brings us a subterranean horror.  Deep in the bowels of the earth this creatures awaits its unsuspecting prey disguised as a stalagmite.  Woe to those unwary adventurers who come within reach of its stony tentacles!

Demon Dogs!

Here are three awesome miniatures that I got just before the holidays.  They may appear a bit familiar to anyone who watched Saturday morning cartoons in the early 1980s.

Officially, they are Wasteland Warriors by Interloper Miniatures and you can get a set here, but we know who the really are!

Each one require some amount of assembly, and now that I've gotten them glued together, I can't wait until it gets warm enough out for me to prime them.  I'm really excited to start painting them, as they will work perfectly for my Savage Sorcerers of Sungor game is I ever get working on it again!

My Tome of Awesome has arrived

My copy of the Tome of Awesome for the Far Away Land roleplaying game arrived today, and as its name indicates, it is awesome!

Um...I'm not sure what to even say about this.

A Chinese Adventure Time knockoff.  I'm not sure if it's the translation or the dialogue, but from some of the things that are said, I sure hope it's the translation..

Weird Adventure Wednesday

Yes, I've changed the name.  Weird Adventure Wednesday, just seemed to sound more appropriate. :-) This week's adventure idea takes us to some curious locations in search of a rather intriguing item.  I'm not sure though whether the guardian is a friend or a foe...

On a blustery day you cross paths with a foreign swordsman lying in the road.  The swordsman tells you a forgotten tale that 12 days journey to the north, near the Erupting Gorge of the Barbarian, is hidden the Crimson Church of the Swashbuckler.  It is thought that there can be found the Rune Etched Granite Torch of Horrors.  But beware, for the swordsman warns you that it is whispered the Fabulous Rat of Inebriation lurks there!

Wednesday Wondrous Adventures

On an overcast afternoon you come across a glassy eyed barbarian in a crowded market.  The barbarian tells you a rumor that 4 weeks ride to the southwest, along the Foggy Shores, can be found the Subterranean Abbey of Reality.  It is said that there can be found the Crude Lead Cutlass of the Gleaming Evoker.  But beware, for the barbarian tells you that it is told the Phantasmal Pit Fiend of Banality dismembers all who come near!

Wednesday Wondrous Adventures

This weeks' Wednesday Wondrous Adventure is rather weather appropriate and takes us to some interesting locations searching for a somewhat questionable item.

On a snowy afternoon you meet an overbearing prince at a formal event.  The Prince tells you that 15 days journey to the northeast, through the Whispering Cliffs of Vulgarity, can be found the Glowing Mansion of the Burning Brain.  It is rumored that there can be found the Enchanted Flesh Scepter of Lunacy.  But beware, for the prince warns you that it is rumored the Devouring Frog Men of Poisoning live there!
